In a it's-not-exactly-a-surprise decision, Ian Flemming's estate will be handling the ebooks editions of the the Bond author's works. FutureBook reports. Penguin, which publishes the author's dead tree editions, is likely to want the ebooks rights when the contract with the estate comes up for negotiations about renewal in about eighteen months. It's another example of how high-profile authors and their works may be able to go it alone to the tune of bigger profits on the digital frontier.
