After years of the big event in the comics industry being on the left coast, Comic-Con ran February 24-26 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. Having tried the Big Apple, can the industry take just one bite? Looking at the con website it certainly looks like that's not likely.
UPDATE 2-27-06: In fact the convention was such a success that the fire marshall shut down admissions several times. People who didn't buy tickets online or early had long waits or didn't get in. The experience once the fans were inside ranged from awed wonder at meeting the greats of the comics world to the desire that the con organizers suffer, really truly suffer. Conclusion: They'll be back next year, not sadder but hopefully wiser and better organized.
