You know that saying about the view always being the same if you're not the lead dog? They never mention the view for the driver. Here's an eighteen dog team at over twenty miles an hour: the view looks pretty good.

Blue Hors Matine Retired

Injured in an unloading accident, Blue Hors Matine has been retired and has joined a herd on a stud farm. Her rider has begun his own venture with a new stallion.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, other than it is February, Olympic ice skating.  This won the gold in 2006.

Singing in the Rain—Chinese Style

The Chinese decided that the girl chosen to sing the national anthem at the opening cermeny of the Olympics was not pretty enough to represent her country. So a substitution was made. Since the original singer's taped voice was used, the following scene was not a possibility, and it was left to journalists to discover and comment on the switch.
